Text Box: Welcome To Our Church
A German Protestant congregation was first brought together in 1885 by Mrs. Anna Feistel. Then in 1888 the First German Evangelical Church was organized under the leadership of S.Herman Schwab. Services were held in the Calvinistic Congregational Church located at 820 Main Street, Fitchburg.
In 1891, the Bailey family gave a plot of land on Rollstone Street to erect a church building. The church was completed the following year and dedicated on April 10, 1892. Property abutting the church was purchased by members in June 1925 with the parsonage being built and completed the same year.
Over the years, many gifts have been given to our Church and to the Memorial Fund, making possible renovation and enhancements of the beauty of our place of worship.
In 1946 the language of the liturgy was changed from German to English, making it possible for younger people to take a more active interest. To emphasize the inclusiveness of our fellowship the church adopted the name “Trinity Congregational Church” in January 1952.
1988 marked the celebration of our 100th Anniversary, highlighted by special events throughout the year.
